For todays Onerous Offering, I call your attention to a sadly underviewed holiday classic. Trick 'r Treat, released directly to Dvd in 2007 and directed by Michael Dougherty, is a must watch Halloween film. Done in a vingette fashion with a wonderful wraparound storyline, this Titan of Terror stands together with the first two Creepshow films and the earlier Amicus anthology films as the best among the best of Halloween fare! It is a yearly tradition around this tomb to watch it with the lanterns low and the Gruesome Grog freely flowing! The Imdb description, while somewhat accurate, does not do the actual film justice. I recommend watching it twice. Part of the fun is picking out where the vignettes overlap each other and is easier accomplished after the initial viewing. I promise you, my children, once viewed this Cadaverous Classic will be burned onto your Horrid Heart for all time.
